Former Obama White House communications director and senior advisor to President-elect Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, Anita Dunn, is joining the White House as the president’s senior adviser.
Dunn is joining the White House on a “temporary basis”, sources told Fox News, and will be on leave from SKD Knickerbocker, where he is a partner and founding member.

Dunn served as a senior advisor in the Biden presidential campaign, and a person close to the Biden camp told Fox News that she is “an extremely respected and beloved person in this community”.
The source told Fox News that Dunn was widely credited for conducting the campaign “so skilfully” after Iowa and New Hampshire – an interim period before Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon was brought on board.
Dunn previously served as chief strategist for former President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2008 and then served as director of communications for the White House until 2009.
Biden’s transition team also announced several other additional White House officials, including campaign national press secretary TJ Ducklo, as deputy press secretary for the White House. Ducklo is currently a spokesman for the Biden-Harris transition.
Ducklo will serve as deputy press secretary for the White House, Jen Psaki.
“Speaking honestly, empathetically and directly to the public about our administration will be among the main pillars of this Presidency and the White House,” said Biden in a statement on Friday. “At a time when American families face countless challenges, these nominees will strengthen our management’s ability to convey information to the American people and be an integral part of our team’s efforts to better rebuild our nation.”
New White House chief of staff Ron Klain also praised the nominations, saying “they will be instrumental in communicating information on behalf of the White House to the press and the American public”.
“They are respected and creative strategists, ready to face the urgent challenges facing our country,” said Klain.

The Biden transition also announced that Matt Hill, deputy press secretary for the campaign, will join the White House as a senior associate communications director.
Other White House announcements include Khanya Brann as senior communications assistant and special assistant to communications director; Eric Bravo as video editor for the White House; Rykia Dorsey Craig, Seth Schuster and Ike Hajinazarian as directors of regional communications; Drew Haskett as a presidential cameraman; Lawrence Jackson as a photographer for Vice President-elect Kamala Harris; Terry Moynihan as deputy director of research; Adam Schultz as the main official photographer for the White House; and Todd Zubatkin as deputy director of research.
Vice President-elect Harris praised the nominees, calling them “dedicated civil servants who will help us fulfill our commitment to curb the coronavirus pandemic, create an economy that works for workers and rebuild our country in a way that will lift everyone The americans . “
The new administration announced more than 215 nominees for the White House, with the transition calling it “a new record for appointments before taking office”.
