Biden and Harris are forbidden areas for SNL, as the series avoids them completely in the first episode of 2021

‘Where are Biden’s joke skits? Is the president off limits? ‘Biased’ SNL is criticized for completely avoiding Joe and Kamala’s jokes in the first episode since the inauguration – after four years making Trump the target of his jokes

  • Presented by John Krasinki, the first SNL of 2021 managed to present neither the president nor the vice president in his skits, despite having been sworn in two weeks ago
  • Instead, it featured ‘appearances’ by Marjorie Taylor Greene and Tom Brady
  • The change was posted online by some viewers who described the program as a ‘snoozefest’ who is ‘afraid of being canceled’
  • Others noted how Trump had been the target of his jokes in the past four years
  • One viewer said: ’45 had a honeymoon period? I do not remember ‘

Saturday Night Live has completely avoided parodying Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in their first episode since the two took office.

Organized by John Krasinki, the first SNL of 2021 managed to present neither the president nor the vice president in their skits.

Instead, it featured special ‘appearances’ by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mark Zuckerberg and Tom Brady.

The change was posted online by some viewers who described the show as a ‘snoozefest’ who is ‘too scared to be canceled’.

Others noted how Donald Trump had been the target of his jokes in the past four years.

Donald Trump of Alec Baldwin was also notably absent at the opening of the show.

On Twitter, a viewer observed: ’45 had a honeymoon period? I do not remember. ‘

Another said, ‘Why doesn’t SNL make ANY sketch about Biden? Is Biden off limits? ‘

“The program that has parodied all presidents since its inception for fear of playing Biden,” said a Twitter user.

Jim Carrey revealed in December that he had come to the end of his ‘term’ as a former vice president.

“Although my term should only last 6 weeks, I was thrilled to be elected president of SNL … the biggest obligation in comedy,” tweeted the actor.

He was thought to have been replaced by Alex Moffat.

But he did not appear as president on Saturday night’s show.

Woody Harrelson also made several appearances as the next president at the start of the 2019 presidential campaign.

Jason Sudeikis, who was a regular player of SNL’s Biden when he was a cast member, returned to play him after Harrelson’s short stint.

Comedian John Mulaney, who used to write for SNL, also returned to playing Biden before Carrey took over.

Former SNL cast member Maya Rudolph has appeared as Harris on previous shows.

Instead of focusing on the new administration, the opening skit Kate McKinnon sat down with Rep. Greene (GA-R) – played by Cecily Strong – while she tried to determine ‘What still works?’ in 2021.

McKinnon’s next guest was Pete Davidson as Derrick ‘Boner’ Evans, GameStop’s new majority shareholder.

Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, played by Alef Moffat, and Jack Dorsey of Twitter, played by Mikey Day, were the next guests.

McKinnon then proceeded to launch the vaccine, bringing Kenan Thompson as OJ Simpson – sporting an ankle monitor. The controversial soccer player recently made headlines after receiving the vaccine.

Played by Krasinki, Tom Brady was the last guest to appear.
