The new Biden government is planning to impose much stricter guidelines to protect against the spread of COVID-19 in the White House than its predecessor, according to the new guidance sent to employees on Tuesday.
The guidelines, reported by Axios, say that employees will be required to do daily coronavirus tests and wear N95 masks at all times.
Efforts to stem the spread of the virus are in stark contrast to the Trump White House, which was rocked by a series of outbreaks of COVID-19 when government officials refused to wear masks. President TrumpDonald Trump Giuliani used provisional ballot to vote in the 2020 election, the same method that he discredited in the fight to overturn the results. retire MORE was sent to the hospital during his fight against the coronavirus after an outbreak at an outdoor event at Rose Garden, where most participants were seen without a mask.
The guidance was sent to officials who will be “in close proximity” to any “directors” of the White House, probably referring to department heads.
The team also looks ready to receive its first doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
“For those of you who have not yet received your first vaccine,” says the guidance, “we will do a follow-up in the coming days with information on how to do this”.
In addition to the use of the mask and the 15-minute rapid antigen tests, employees are also being instructed to keep a distance of two meters from each other.
“The Biden White House will follow public health guidelines that ensure that we are keeping all employees safe during the pandemic,” a transitional officer told Axios.
Transition officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.
