A plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills died of COVID-19 … and it appears to be entirely because he was able to continue working on patients during a pandemic.
Dr. Payman Simoni – who appeared on “The Doctors” – died while in hospital in LA – this after he contracted the virus while performing a cosmetic procedure on a patient who turned out to be COVID positive … say family sources.
They said that Dr. Simoni was giving a woman a lip injection last month … obviously, an elective procedure. Her temperature was checked and a COVID questionnaire was completed. It has not been tested.

While the doctor was hovering over the woman without a mask, our sources say she coughed in his face. He had the mask on, but still … she sprayed him. She contacted the office a few days later to inform them that the COVID test was positive.
Dr. Simoni then went into quarantine and started to experience symptoms – shortness of breath, etc. – and before long, he was on a respirator at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. We were told that Dr. Simoni ended up being put into an induced coma when his lungs started to fail. He died on Friday of cerebral hemorrhage.

It is a cautionary tale … that could have been avoided if the city of Beverly Hills had not passed a resolution allowing plastic surgery offices to remain open as long as cases continued to rise. Some doctors chose to postpone – others obviously did not.
Simoni was 50 years old.
