The US Capitol was attacked and invaded by a right-wing and neo-confederate crowd last week, and according to the FBI, groups loyal to President Trump are threatening to try do it again during next week’s inauguration, where President-elect Joe Biden will take the oath. Nerves are in tatters, people are on edge, so at least one video game company is taking its next marketing event out of the way of anything that might happen next Wednesday.

“Due to the Opening Day in the United States on January 20, we are hosting our Global Reveal Event for Gates of oblivion Thursday, January 21 to Tuesday, January 26 at 5:00 PM EST / 10:00 PM GMT, ”Bethesda announced on Twitter yesterday. Elaborating on a follow-up tweet responding to a fan, the company said security was a concern. “Given recent events, we are choosing to play it safe,” wrote Bethesda. “We have players all over the world, but most of our employees live and work close to the capital.”
