Berlin’s Terri Nunn apologizes for the Mar-a-Lago show, “shocked” by the Trump resort’s “lack of consideration” by COVID-19

Terri Nunn is apologizing after performing at a New Year’s party at Donald Trump’s resort in Mar-a-Lago.

The Berliner singer joined a list of other artists at the Florida resort who have since apologized for their decisions to attend the party. Nunn said the controversial performance was not intended to be a political stance and added that she was surprised by the loose nature of coronavirus protocols at the luxury property.

“I’m really sorry to have played in Mar-a-Lago and I wouldn’t have done that if I knew what I learned while I was there,” wrote Nunn in a social media statement shared on Berlin’s Facebook account.

“My goal in introducing myself was not to support a political party. I see now that this is not how it looked and I also apologize for that.”

During his time in Palm Beach, Florida, a resort where Vanilla Ice, Taylor Dayne and the licensed version of the Beach Boys toured also performed, Nunn expressed shock at the lack of COVID-19 measures in place. Furthermore, despite his contract stating that the case would be “a small safe Covid event for members of Mar-a-Lago”, lamented Nunn, “Unfortunately, it was not safe for Covid anywhere in Florida”.

“I had no idea that masks and social detachment were not necessary. I thought I was up to date on all of Covid’s news everywhere, but it clearly wasn’t,” said Nunn. “I was shocked by the lack of consideration by Florida and Mar-a-Lago for the pandemic and, if I had known, I would never have gone. As soon as I fulfilled my contractual obligation, I left the event as quickly as I could. a mistake, I’m sorry. I did a Covid 19 test yesterday and it was negative. “

Before Nunn made his apologies, Berlin co-founder David Diamond took action and announced that his performance was just a separate solo show from the group and that he was not involved.

“Various media outlets reported that ‘Berlin’ played Mar-a-Lago for NYE,” Diamond tweeted. “I want to make it clear that I wasn’t at this show, nor did I plan to attend. I spent the night at my home in Truckee.”

The actress expressed in her note that many fans of the band resented the performance and felt it as a betrayal, considering that she appeared at a number of Pride festivals and publicly supported LGBTQ initiatives.

“My apologies to those in the LGBTQ community who thought my performance was a statement against them,” she wrote. “I have been and always will be totally supportive.”

In addition, Nunn was ridiculed on social media by critics who found irony in her performance of “Take My Breath Away” at an event in which social distance and mask mandates were apparently non-existent.

Meanwhile, in a deleted tweet, Dayne expressed her sadness for the criticism she received, as well as for her performance.
