Berhalter names list of 25 players ahead of US-Trinidad and Tobago on January 31 in Orlando

CHICAGO (24 January 2021) – USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter chose a squad of 25 players before US-Trinidad and Tobago on January 31 in Orlando [TICKETS]. Exploria Stadium coverage for the first US game in 2021 starts at 7:00 pm Eastern time on FS1, UniMás and TUDN.


The group was selected from an initial list of 12 senior team players and 26 U-23 MNT players who started training on January 9 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The team traveled to Orlando on Sunday afternoon.


LAFC defender Tristan Blackmon suffered a concussion in training on Saturday and will return to Los Angeles today.


At the beginning of a crucial year for the United States Men’s Team, which includes the Final Four of the League of Nations of the Concacaf, the Gold Cup and the start of the Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, the fight against Soca Warriors gives players the opportunity to claim their seats.


“These past two weeks have been an absolute pleasure. A total of 15 MLS teams are represented, with hometown Orlando City SC contributing four players, the best in the league. Sixteen players are eligible by age for the 2021 Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Championship, which will be played March 18-30 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

  • Mueller debuted in the match against El Salvador, becoming only the sixth player to score two goals in his first participation in the USMNT. Mueller also assisted in the 6-0 victory.

  • Arriola opened the scoring against El Salvador with his sixth international goal, while Lletget rocked the net for the fourth time and his second consecutive match for the USMNT.

  • Lletget was also the only USMNT player to appear in all four matches in 2020.

  • Despite having participated in last January’s camp, Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Cristian Roldan will seek his first internationalization since the 4-0 victory over Cuba in the group stage of the Concacaf League of Nations in 19 November 2019.
