Roethlisberger and Steelers President Art Rooney II met today, according to Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The meeting went well, according to the report.
The Steelers said Roethlisberger will not return to his current contract because he cannot pay his astonishing $ 41.25 million salary cap reached for 2021. Roethlisberger said he is willing to accept a cut in payment to stay in Pittsburgh, but that is not necessarily it means that he will have a cut in pay as steep as what the Steelers want him to do.
