Ben Carson says MLK ‘would be offended’ after Vermont Governor Scott defines vaccine eligibility by race

Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson, criticized Vermont Republican Governor Phil Scott as the last patron of “identity policy” after announcing that the coronavirus vaccine will soon be available to families non-white in “Hannity”.

CARSON: The whole identity policy thing is poisonous. If Martin Luther King were here today, he would be absolutely offended. He wanted people to be judged on their character and not on the color of their skin – and here we are doing everything we can to separate people based on race, religion, gender, anything we can find.

Instead of the United States, we are becoming Divided States. And a house divided against itself cannot survive. It is the most ridiculous policy and I hope that the state of Vermont will reconsider it very seriously. And we need to start looking at our population in terms of who needs what, and working on the basis of need, not on the basis of superficial identifying qualities.
