Filmmaker Ben Affleck, a two-time Oscar winner, is reportedly ready to remain single in the near future.
Casting partner Ana de Armas, 48, born in Berkeley and raised in Cambridge, said she ended her romance last week by phone.
“Ben accepts that it would be better to be single for a while,” a source told The Mirror on Saturday.

‘Unless there is a miracle and Ana comes back asking for another chance. He’s really focused on prioritizing himself and his children over relationships, and his friends are joking about taking an oath of celibacy. It remains to be seen whether he can remain single for a long time or not.
Affleck’s friends encouraged him to ‘work on himself’ and ‘stop rushing into very intense relationships, which implode as soon as the honeymoon ends’.
Actor The Last Thing He Wanted and the 32-year-old Cuban – who met in New Orleans in November 2019 – were last photographed together in Santa Monica on November 28.

Affleck is also the father of two daughters – Seraphina, 12; and Violet, 15 – from her decade-long marriage to former Daredevil protagonist Jennifer Garner, which ended in 2018.

‘At this point in my career, I’m a little old. I’m 48, so I don’t know how long I’m going to be the “non-25-year-old” guy, Ben told Variety’s Actors on Actors on Friday.
‘But there are more interesting roles. People you can relate to are more interesting to me, because I no longer have the ability to do something when I’m bored halfway and I hate it. I just can’t do this.
‘There is no point in staying away from my children. If I’m going to travel, there better be something really satisfying that I think they’ll see at some point, I hope. Although my children say, “Dad, we don’t want to watch your movies.”
