Subnautica: Below Zero, the autonomous expansion of Unknown World’s brilliant underwater survival adventure in 2018, will finally receive its full 1.0 version on May 14.

Below Zero will be in early access for almost two and a half years when May arrives (its predecessor, by contrast, was in early access development for a little longer, just over three years), and its full release will be see the game make the leap to the Nintendo Switch, along with Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

If you’re not keeping up with developments, Subnautica: Below Zero takes place after the first game and challenges players, assigned to a new role, to survive in an unseen part of the ocean planet 4546B – through familiar construction and manufacturing systems, and exploration.

Subnautica: Below the trailer for the very spoiler release date of Zero.

This new location is considerably colder and colder than Subnautica players will have encountered before, bringing their own unique biomes, creatures and other surprises. There’s a look at Below Zero’s action in the trailer above, but be warned it’s full of spoilers.
