Beloved Bob’s Burgers animator Dave Creek, dead at 42

Dave Creek, main character animator in the incredibly popular adult animation series, Bob burgers, tragically died in a skydiving accident at age 42.

Creek – whose Instagram page shows that he was an avid and experienced skydiver – also loved working with wood and was building an elaborate tree house, documenting the entire process on social media.

The Official Bob burgers The Twitter account shared the following tribute to the beloved animator:

We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Dave Creek, an extraordinary artist who has been with Bob’s Burgers from day one. He was not only an incredible talent, but also a beautiful person, and our hearts are with his family, friends and all his fellow performers who loved him and are suffering today.

O Bob burgers The franchise joined the Walt Disney Company brand family when Disney completed its purchase of 20th Century Fox – now 20th Century Studios – in March 2019.

Fans and colleagues are remembering Creek on social media. Bob burgers producer Wendy Molyneaux shared an especially touching tribute, writing:

If you love Bob’s Burgers, you loved Dave Creek. He was an amazing artist, adventurous, funny and outgoing, and one of the most amazing and interesting people I have ever met. I often thought that Dave really knew how to live and would like him to live a little longer. Rest in peace, friend.

Walt Disney Studios is scheduled to launch a Bob burgers film in 2021, with the entire cast and creative team intact – no doubt, Creek will be sorely missed professionally while work on the next animated film continues.

For our previous coverage, Bob burgers is scheduled to be released on April 9. According to IMDb, the film was originally set to premiere on July 17, 2020 – ironically, the 65th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort – but has been delayed due to the pandemic.
