Beloit woman dies after accelerating on a curve, hitting a tree

ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) – Rock County delegates are investigating after a woman died in a car accident on Sunday west of Beloit.

Rock County Communications received a phone call at about 2:45 pm about an accident on block 8100 on State Highway 81.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office, the Orfordville Fire Department and the Beloit Fire Department responded to the accident.

The cops say the car was going west and made a long turn. They say the car was speeding before it hit a ditch, rolled over and hit a tree.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 34-year-old Beloit woman died at the scene. She was the driver and the only one in the car, and the police say she didn’t wear a seat belt.

Authorities closed State Highway 81 from County Highway H to Smythe School Road because of the incident and reopened it just before 5 pm when the road was cleared.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is working with the coroner on the investigation.
