In both Bears-Saints games this year, Saints cornerback CJ Gardner-Johnson spoke ill of a Bears wide receiver, only to have that receiver ejected for punching him. Bears President George McCaskey had some strong words for Gardner-Johnson and his own player’s inability to prevent Gardner-Johnson from irritating him.
McCaskey said at WMVP-AM that after Gardner-Johnson lured Bears receiver Javon Wims for an ejection in the regular season, the Bears technical team warned players that Gardner-Johnson would try to trick them into the playoff rematch. And McCaskey is frustrated that Anthony Miller let himself go.
“I have a bigger problem with Anthony’s ejection because they sat him down and said, ‘Listen, be careful with this player. He’s a punk. He will try to irritate you. And with Darnell Mooney out, we really need you to be in this game and help this team, ‘”said McCaskey, via Chicago Sun-Times. “And Anthony had the advantage of seeing Javon’s experience. I think they need to be evaluated separately. I have a bigger problem with Anthony’s expulsion than Javon’s. “
Asked whether Miller would return to the Bears next year, McCaskey said, “It doesn’t depend on me.”
