When Andy Dalton made the decision to sign with the Chicago Bears, one reason was that he was certain he would be the team’s full-back in 2021.
It was not a decision that pleased the fans, especially considering that the Bears tried to switch to Russell Wilson before the Seattle Seahawks closed the door … for now. Which paved the way for Dalton to Chicago.
But at least, we won’t have to endure another quarterback competition during the training camp.
A few days after Dalton explained that he was hired to be the titleholder, the Bears made it official on Twitter with a photoshopped image of Dalton in a Bears uniform with the caption “QB1”.

As you can imagine, Twitter had a lot to say about Chicago naming Dalton as the starting quarterback in March. And while it was fun, it certainly wasn’t the reaction the Bears social media team had envisioned.
I’m just here to read the comments 💀

Look, I wouldn’t be promoting that Andy Dalton is my starting quarterback, but it’s not totally absurd that he is one. https://t.co/PrjkzlAg5w

I’m sorry to the social media people who had to do photoshop and tweet this. You are important and we are here to help you. You deserve better https://t.co/5ZDMimsLVq
