After what he called a “whirlwind” in the first few weeks at work, Shane Beamer is starting to establish himself in his role as South Carolina football coach. With his team hired, his first recruiting class finished, and the team just over five weeks from the start of spring camp, Beamer had time on Wednesday Tuesday night for her first Carolina Call call program.
“Being the head coach of South Carolina has been a dream come true,” said Beamer as he started the show. “It has certainly been unique in many ways with all things (it comes with your first role as head coach), but one thing that hasn’t changed in the 10 years since my family was here was how amazing this university is, this program of athletics, this city and our fan base. “
Thanks to Delaney for saying hello!

While Beamer and show host Todd Ellis spent most of the hour-long program discussing winter events, such as Beamer hiring coaches and purchasing South Carolina transfer portals, the two also discussed the next season of spring. Gamecocks are scheduled to start spring training on March 20 and end the camp with the spring game on April 24.
“I’m looking forward to doing that,” said Beamer. “Fortunately, we can have a great spring game and all this depending on what is going on with greed. Objectives, I think the main thing is to really understand and get to know our people as a football team. Enter the field and watch them work and compete with each other and develop depth.
Beamer’s last night call asked if fans would be allowed to attend spring training. His response to this along with comments on various topics about his young management as a head coach in South Carolina are below.
