It was a special night for some South Carolina football journalists on Wednesday. Head coach Shane Beamer met with the group in Columbia and received a “Welcome home” sign to indicate the social media hashtag he has popularized since he was hired in December.
Beamer was not the only person to receive a gift. Gamecocks former student-athletes Ryan Brewer (football), Ed “Punky” Holler (football) and Casey Manning (basketball) were given the nomination rights to three rooms at the Ken and Cyndi Long Family Football Operations Center.
Unbelievable night tonight! @CoachSBeamer was kind to join our special group of @USCLettermen. Then Ken Wheat donates the rights to the name of the coach’s office to Casey Manning, Punky Holler and me. I love that man @GamecockFB pic.twitter.com/5uFewEieOF

The project was funded by Ken Wheat, star of the 1969 football team ACC Champion. Brewer was presented with the office of the main strength trainer, Holler with the office of the internal linebackers and Manning with the office of life skills.
