COLOMBIA – Shane Beamer tweeted, “Stay tuned tomorrow,” on Thursday after it was made official that offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and offensive coach Will Friend were fleeing to Auburn. He had already accomplished that on Thursday night.
Carolina Panthers offensive line manager Marcus Satterfield was named the new South Carolina offensive coordinator on Friday after the news broke Thursday night. Satterfield came from Baylor with Panthers coach Matt Rhule.
Satterfield was hired as CO in East Tennessee State for the 2018 season, but left before even training a game so he could join Rhule in Baylor. He was in charge of recruiting in 2018 and finishing in 2019 for the Bears.
He was a 2016-17 Tennessee Tech coach and was matched 6-16. Prior to that, Satterfield was OC at Temple, where in their first season, the Owls averaged nearly 400 yards per game. He also coordinated offenses in Chattanooga and Tennessee-Martin.
The ETSU graduate trained in Richmond and Western Carolina after being a graduate assistant in Tennessee.
