‘Batwoman’ sets Wallis’ day as new and changed Kate Kane in big reveal – deadline

On Sunday night, Bat Woman answered the persistent question of “What happened to Kate Kane?” Since Javicia Leslie wore the cape and hood as Batwoman (aka Ryan Wilder), Kate’s whereabouts have remained elusive, but the mystery has been resolved tonight, as Wallis Day will assume the role that was once played by Ruby Rose.

Make no mistake – Leslie will continue to be Batwoman. In fact, Kate Kane’s reintroduction further solidifies Leslie’s place as the only Batwoman – and we must reiterate that she is the first black actress to take on the role of the iconic superhero.

The second half of the season will reveal where Kate has been, and what that means for her character in the future. At the end of tonight’s episode, the audience discovers that Kate Kane is alive but unrecognizable due to the injuries she sustained in the accident. She is bandaged and being held hostage. That said, Day will play an altered version of Kate.

British actress Wallis Day is no stranger to the world of comics, as she starred as one of the protagonists of Krypton. His other TV credits include Jekyll and Hyde, New house, and The Royals. Day recently finished the feature film Infinite directed by Antoine Fuqua, where she starred alongside Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Day represented by Hamilton and UTA.
