Battlefield 6 can be “heavily influenced” by Battlefield 3, according to Tom Henderson.
In a recent YouTube video (via altchar), Henderson summarizes all the details he claims to know so far about the upcoming Battlefield game. Speculating that it will be called Battlefield 6 or simply Battlefield, Henderson says that the next title is “heavily influenced by Battlefield 3” and will be “a kind of smooth reboot”.
As noted in the video, Henderson made the same claim in the past on Twitter, claiming that Battlefield 6 will return to its modern environment on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. While the suggestion is that it will be a smooth reboot, Henderson addresses the rumors circulating about a complete Battlefield 3 remastering, saying that there is no “hard evidence” for suggest that this is true.
Previously, the industry member also said that Battlefield 6 will feature 128 player maps. Going into more detail about this side of the game, Henderson says the maps were “designed with about 128 players in mind”, but adds that this does not necessarily mean that 128 players will be playing in each game mode. “Instead, I was told there would be standard 32 v 32 modes,” said Henderson. “However, for players who want a lot more players to fight them, they should expect some superior player modes to come into play.”
So far, EA has been relatively quiet on the battlefield. The only confirmed information we have about the next entry in the sniper franchise is that it will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X with a 2021 launch window. Henderson believes there are still 9 to 10 months to go and says he has been informed that it will also be available for PS4 and Xbox One. “some graphic downgrades and limited destruction”.
Of course, it is always better to get information from insiders with a pinch of salt, and Henderson even says that everything mentioned in the video is subject to change, but it certainly presents some interesting ideas about the possible direction of the next Battlefield title.
