A new Batman fan film features a support cast full of actors – including science fiction alumni and thriller films.
Batman: Dying is Easy, developed by father and son duo Sean and Aaron Schoenke, was recently released on the Bat no Sun channel on YouTube. The film, described as “a dark psychological detective story with an almost horror movie feel,” features a battle of intelligence between Batman and the Joker. The Schoenkes also directed the film, with Aaron writing the script and playing the Clown Prince of Crime in the film.
The film also features cameos from Michael Madsen (pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs) and Doug Jones (Boy from hell, Star Trek: Discovery) Madsen plays Detective Harvey Bullock, while Jones has a brief appearance as Riddler. Other cameos include Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) as Commissioner Gordon and musician Chris Daughtry as Hugo Strange. Kevin Porter plays the Dark Knight, reprising his role in previous Bat in the Sun productions.
The Schoenkes launched an Indiegogo campaign to Batman: Dying is Easy, which raised $ 75,703 in funds for the film. Bat in the Sun made other fan films, mainly the Super Power Beat Down series – which pits various characters from pop culture against each other.
