While many governors and legislatures are busy implementing and extending roadblocks that have devastated small businesses, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is providing the necessary relief.
Barstool Fund, created by Portnoy to help small businesses in need, raised more than $ 16 million on December 31.
In early December, Portnoy launched the fund with a contribution of $ 500,000 of his own money. Since then, the aid fund has grown tremendously.
“As soon as you join our program, we will pay what you need, the needs you need, the money you need to get through it and give you a fair chance to run your business,” said Portnoy. “These people are not leaving the market because they are unsuccessful or do not make money, it is because they have no other choice. They were given a hand that no one could play. “
Since the fund’s inception, Portnoy has provided regular updates on the businesses the fund is helping.

In the case of “Mama Mia”, the Barstool Fund managed to save a family restaurant at a very special time.

Portnoy launched the fund in early December, shortly after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo temporarily banned indoor dining in New York restaurants, a move that Portnoy called “Insanity”.
