HBO killer comedy series Barry starring Bill Hader it was one of many programs that were preparing to go into production shortly before the coronavirus pandemic ended most of last year. Although the production of some films and TV shows has resumed with the strict security protocols in force, it seems that the creators of Barry are being a little more cautious, as they haven’t started filming the show’s third season yet. But the good news is that the long hiatus allowed Bill Hader and the co-creator of the series Alec Berg to write the whole season 4.
Bill Hader appeared in Late night with Seth Meyers last night (via The AV Club), and your old Saturday Night Live friend is looking forward to the third season of Barry Like the rest of us. Then he asked where they were with producing new episodes. Hader explained:
“Just when the blockade happened in March, we were a week away from shooting. So the last time I was in a room with a lot of people was at the table reading episodes one and two of season three, and we were ready to go. Then it was all over. The third season is completely written, ready to start, and then during that time we actually wrote the fourth season. So, we are both done. We’re just waiting until we can start shooting again. “
Knowing that writing for season 4 is over is great news, especially since we haven’t heard that HBO has officially ordered a fourth season yet. But the fact that Hader and Berg have already written the scripts seems to indicate that this is happening and has not yet been formally announced by the cable channel.
We are looking forward to the third season of Barry, especially after that suspense of an end at the end of the second season. We will not spoil for anyone who is still interested in updating Barry before the new episodes arrive (it looks like you have a lot of time), but suffice it to say that it will take some smart tricks for Barry to get out of that pickle.
New episodes of Barry it may not happen soon, but with the coronavirus pandemic having a dangerous rise in California now, the production of many films and TV shows has been suspended for the time being and it is unclear when they can get back to work. This means that we may not see Barry return to HBO by 2022. But whenever the program comes back, we will be happy to receive it.
