Emily Wilkinson listened to JuJu Smith-Schuster’s pre-game comments loud and clear.
While the Browns were destroying the Steelers in prime time on Sunday, Baker Mayfield’s wife trolled the Pittsburgh receiver, who spoke critically of Cleveland earlier in the week.
“I think they are gray faces with no name. They have some good players on their team, but at the end of the day, I don’t know. The Browns are the Browns, ”said Smith-Schuster last week, which Wilkinson posted in his Instagram story.
“What did you say @juju?” Wilkinson joked.
The Browns defeated their rival AFC North 48-37, the team’s first playoff victory in 26 years. They will face the Chiefs on Sunday in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.
On Monday, Wilkinson – who has been married to Mayfield since July 2019 – posted a celebratory message on Instagram.
“Against all odds…. For the next one! So proud of @clevelandbrowns and @bakermayfield,” she wrote.
Smith-Schuster, who had 13 receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown on Sunday, said after the game that he does not regret previous comments.
“You know, I don’t regret what I said. I said the Browns are the Browns, ”said Smith-Schuster, according to ProFootballTalk.
“They went out and played an incredible game. You know, there were games where we felt we lost them and today was not our night and I hope the same Browns will show up next week against the same opponent and go out and do the same thing they did tonight and have a hell of a game, ” he continued.
