‘Bachelorette’ stars Kaitlyn Bristowe, Jason Tartick say they have coronanvirus, will spend Christmas alone

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick will spend Christmas alone this year.

The two former Bachelorette students revealed that they contracted the coronavirus after receiving a friend who had the virus.

Bristowe, 35, announced the news on Instagram Thursday with a picture of her and Tartick sitting in front of a Christmas tree, looking less than thrilled.

“Unfortunately, this is our Christmas card this year,” she started in the caption. “We have Covid.”

The reality star said she and her boyfriend thought they “were making a responsible decision to receive ONE person” at their home after the quarantine. She said her guest is tested daily for work and has tested negative several times.

“The day we saw her, she was sure, which we all found out the next day,” said Bristowe. “Now, like many, we are going to spend Christmas alone.”

She continued: “We just want everyone to know that we think we were safe, but the greed is greater than we are.”

The star concluded her post by sending her best wishes to “those who are sick or overcoming something”, as well as to “health professionals who have been away from the family caring for other people for months and months”.

“We will be fine !!” she assured. “Be safe and happy holidays!”

Tartick shared a video on his own Instagram in which he recalled his “Christmas story” and the quarantine plan they believed was “responsible”, which was shaken by the virus’s contraction.

He said they started to experience symptoms like fever, pain and cold sweat when sleeping.

“You just can never be too cautious and careful,” he said in the caption, in part. “There is no way to overcome this terrible virus, lesson learned. Thoughts and prayers are with all those who were impacted by Covid, for those who faced a challenging 2020, for health professionals who put their lives at risk every day for others and for those who have less family during the holiday. “
