Bachelorette star Clare Crawley spoke about her split from Dale Moss.
The two met while filming the last season of ABC’s popular dating show, but in a surprise twist, the 39-year-old star decided to leave the show just a few weeks later, as she felt she had already found her winner in Moss, who asked her to marry him.
On Tuesday, 32-year-old Moss announced on social media that he and Crawley “decided to go their separate ways”, calling the separation of their “healthier” course of action.
Now Crawley has released his own testimonial on Instagram.

“I was informed of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time as all of you, so I needed some time to really digest this,” she began, implying that Moss’s ad was not on her radar ahead of time.

“Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been clear, so the truth is that I am devastated,” continued the star. “This was not what I expected or expected and I am still trying to process it.”
The reality star then reflected on the year 2020, calling it “a yearlong hell.”
She said that in 2020, she faced “severe anxiety”, the coronavirus pandemic, “balancing a new public relationship” and “gradually losing my mother” – circumstances that left her “looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel.”

“Our relationship was not perfect, but I can say that I really invested with all my heart,” concluded Crawley. “I may not have all the answers, but I know that – I will continue to show up, keep my word and commit to love.”
Furthermore, it seems that it was not just the announcement of the separation that caught the star off guard.
“Clare is surprised by the breakup,” a source told People magazine. “She really thought they could make things work and after all she’s been through, she can’t believe she’s in this place again.”

The breakup was “extremely painful and emotional” for Crawley, the source said.

A source spoke to the agency after news of the breakup surfaced, and said Moss “was not ready for marriage and children”.
“He had feelings for Clare, but he was not on the same page as her,” explained the source.

For his part, Crawley “was really hoping he would grow up in the relationship and change,” said the source, but “things only got more difficult after the show, when they had to start making big decisions in life”.
A Moss representative did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
