Along with his tuning company, Daniel Abt is a professional driver who currently competes in Formula E. As a connoisseur of fine automotive equipment, his latest video features a 400-meter dash between a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and a Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
Attentive readers will know that the two vehicles are very close on paper, and they would be right. While the Lambo has slightly more power than the Porsche – 770 horses versus 700 horses – and four-wheel drive, the German competitor has precision engineering in its favor. In addition to being lighter, the GT2 RS also has a PDK gearbox that changes much faster than the single clutch unit on the Aventador SVJ.

Regardless, the Lamborghini produced a highly contested victory in the first race from the start. While Porsche started to stagger at its rival in the end, it just wasn’t enough. Running on a rough and unprepared surface, Abt warmed up his rear tires before the second race to try to find traction early – his initial sprint to 60 mph (100 km / h) in the first race took a disappointing 3.8 seconds.
The second blow produced a very different result with Porsche finally hooking its tires, producing a convincing victory. After a difficult defeat, the pair ended the video with a continuous race, where Porsche narrowly won.
While the GT2 RS is often criticized for its lack of sound and theater, this video proves that the numbers don’t lie. Even if the Aventador in the video had a replacement Novitec exhaust system, we would be remiss not to mention that its V12 engine would still have been victorious even in its original finish. Regardless, the opportunity to race these cars at full speed on a track is a victory in itself.
