Durham, NC – Police confirmed that a body was found in the back seat of a Jeep Compass on block 1300 on E. Club Blvd. in Durham on Wednesday was that of a missing man from South Carolina.
Lexington County, SC officials have identified the missing man as Mark Anthony Carter, 50. He was last seen leaving a family member’s home on January 29 in Lexington County.
The vehicle was located outside Chandler’s Towing in Durham. The company picked up the vehicle after suspecting it was abandoned. Carter’s family was notified that the vehicle had been located and they found his body in the back seat when they arrived.
The investigation is ongoing.
