Australian Pokémon Go player becomes first to reach level 50 worldwide

It has been almost two months since Pokémon Go increased your level cap within the Go Beyond update. Moving from level 40 to level 50, players have gone through an arduous task to reach that level, which includes some embarrassment with British authorities. Yesterday, it finally happened as not one, but two the players have finally achieved that goal.

It was reached for the first time by FleeceKing, an Australian player who captured this moment via Twitch, but it was a close fight to the end. Australian Companion Lauren Bertoni it also reached level 50 just 16 minutes later, making it a fierce competition.

It came when several Go players reached level 48, but were waiting for a timed requirement to advance. Unfortunately, they all found that their challenges were restarted by reaching that level. This led to Niantic investigating and once done, Lauren’s level 49 requirements were defined as completed. FleeceKing seems to have benefited in a similar way, giving them a boost in competition.

They still had to reach all the level 50 requirements, and this is a difficult task. This included earning another 30m XP, reaching 999 excellent moves, reaching rank 10 in the Go Battle League, 5 legendary captures from legendary encounters in a row and 3 victories from the leader of the Go Rocket team using Pokémon under 2500CP. A big question, but they finally got it.
