Auburn football extends offer to WR target in South Carolina

Although Auburn’s 2021 football recruiting class has not yet ended, new coach Bryan Harsin and his team have no hesitation in looking at 2022. On February 10, Antonio Williams logged on to Twitter to announce his offer from Auburn University.

The South Carolina native plays wide receiver at Dutch Fork High School and has received nearly 20 offers from schools, including Duke, Georgia, South Carolina and Arizona State, as well as Auburn. He’s an unrated recruit … but that hasn’t stopped offers from coming up.

Williams has already caught the attention of the new Gamecocks technical team, who again offered the school’s WR after the team change. The state reports that Williams liked the family atmosphere in South Carolina, so wouldn’t he be a great choice for the Auburn family on the plains?

Auburn football has the advantage of coaches with ties to South Carolina in the offensive team of Mike Bobo – who Williams marked in his Twitter post – and Will Friend.

In his 2020 school football season at Dutch Fork, he scored eight touchdowns and 51 receptions for 837 yards. He is also a special team asset with two punt returns for touchdowns and an average of 28.2 yards per kick return.

Williams also received an invitation to the 2022 Under Armor All-American Game, which will be organized for the 14th year. Although the 2021 game has been canceled, there is still hope for a 2022 game next January.

The Under Armor All-American Game is a prestigious honor, and many of the greatest athletes in college and professional football participated in the game, traditionally played in Orlando, Florida, at Camping World Stadium.

The UA All-American Game website provides some tips on successful players who started out as high school seniors on this team:

NFL Pro Bowler AJ Green competed in the inaugural game, while NFL Draft teams like Jadeveon Clowney (2011), Jameis Winston (2012), Myles Garrett (2014) and Kyler Murray (2015) are among the players who participated Years later.

Nearly 250 former students of the Under Armor All-America Game were selected in the NFL Draft, including 64 first round draft choices and 23 NFL Pro Bowlers.

Antonio Williams has connections with his home state university, but we hope that WR will decide to become part of the best family college football it has to offer – the Auburn family.
