Zac Etheridge is being hired as a Tigers defensive back coach, sources told AL.com.
AL.com had previously reported that Etheridge has emerged as a prime target for the job.
Etheridge, an Auburn team captain for the 2010 national title, has coached the cornerbacks in Houston for the past two seasons, following stops in Louisiana (2018) and Western Carolina (2016-17).
The 32-year-old was recently selected as a member of the 35-year-old Coach Leadership Institute under the American Football Coaching Association.
