The new Chromebook CX9 from Asus is the power of a Chromebook made for professionals. The price has not yet been announced, but it will arrive in North America in the second quarter of 2021.
According to Asus, the Chromebook CX9 is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor of up to 11th generation. This is an unusual processor to see on a Chromebook – students and more casual Chromebook customers generally don’t need more than a Core i3 – but it is the best option for advanced users.
It also incorporates this power into a portable chassis, which is only 16 mm thick and 2.2 pounds. And Asus says it meets US military MIL-STD-810H standards for durability, so you shouldn’t have any problems with that.

In addition, the new Chromebook is compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and includes dual speakers certified by Harman Kardon. Asus says it is “loaded with I / O ports”, including the new Thunderbolt 4 standard, as well as HDMI outputs. And it offers security Titan C, the security chip from Google designed specifically for Chromebooks.
Asus also introduced the Chromebook Flip CX5 and C536, two consumer-oriented Chromebooks that will also feature 11th generation Intel processors. These models are coming in the first quarter.
