Asus announces the AX6100 as a “triband” router, which means that the router offers three radios. This includes a 2.4 GHz 2-stream radio, a 5 GHz 2-stream radio and a second 5-GHz 4-stream radio specially designed for mesh backhaul connection. The radios are divided between two internal antennas and four more external antennas.

This router was designed to work with Asus AiMesh technology. This allows multiple AX6100 routers to synchronize together and optimize network traffic over larger physical areas. According to specifications, AiMesh networks can reach WiFi speeds of up to 4804 MB / s.

As for wired connectivity, this router offers four GigE LAN ports along with a single GigE WAN port. Users can use the LAN port with the WAN port via port aggregation to handle transfer speeds over 1 GB / s, and adaptive QoS is supported, allowing the router to prioritize packets used for online gaming and help create a more seamless multiplayer experience. Finally, the router also comes with USB 2.0 and USB 3.1G1 ports for external devices and storage.
