The first week of the new year brings with it the long-awaited change. Mars, Mercury and Venus change signs this week, with Mars, the planet of action, leading the way.
However, first, on Monday, Mercury in Capricorn joins Pluto. This objective conjunction asks you to cement your goals for the coming year. With this specific planetary alignment, words carry extra weight, so stay tuned and be kind to others. But, warning, people may feel nervous on Monday and particularly sensitive to criticism. Be kind and patient. Still, it is a powerful time to affirm your wishes and start the year on the right foot – especially with Mars about to leave Aries.
The change from Mars to Aries to Taurus is undoubtedly interesting. He entered Aries on June 27, 2020; and now he says goodbye to his domestic sign of Aries and will travel in Taurus until March 3, 2021. On the same day that Mars leaves Aries for Taurus (Wednesday, January 6, 2021), we have the waning moon in Libra .
With our feet planted in the new year and our eyes on future goals, it is also a time to look back and discern who you have become in 2020 and what you need to leave behind.
With our feet planted in the new year and our eyes on future goals, it is also a time to look back and discern who you have become in 2020 and what you need to leave behind. Considering that this quarter moon wanks at 16 degrees Libra, a cardinal air sign that correlates with balance, justice and relationships, it asks you to recalibrate yourself in the name of everything you are claiming for this new year!
Respect the waning quarter of the moon in relation to the sun in Capricorn, fully understanding what you need to release to prepare for next year. What habits do you need to give up to make room for who you want to become? Are there clutter in your home that you need to clear up or difficult conversations that you need to have with other people? If so, now is the time to do that. Between now and the new moon in Capricorn on the 13th, we are restarting. Enjoy this window.
On Friday, Mercury and Venus also change signs. Mercury leaves Capricorn and goes to Aquarius, a sign in which he does exceptionally well, to join Jupiter and Saturn. Mercury retreats later this month in the water carrier and joins Saturn on Saturday – further broadening Monday’s serious tone.
Venus also leaves Sagittarius for Capricorn on Friday, where she will stay until the end of the month. In doing so, she triggers Mars. This romantic look is perfect on Saturday. Come closer. Re-evaluate your values. And allow the Venus trine to Mars to motivate yourself. Then lean towards Saturn. With Mercury joining Saturn on Saturday, you want to open your mind and consider the big picture. Who do you want to become this year? How can you take responsibility for that vision now?
The next year is very different from the year we are leaving behind. Not least, it requires you to take action on behalf of your goals and vision and our collective well-being. Be astute and you will go far.
