Asteroids, earthquakes, pests and more

It seems that we could not escape Nostradamus’ predictions, even after 2012, when the world did not really end. It also seems that we haven’t been able to spread bad news. While some astrologers are predicting a somewhat promising future starting in the new year, if you decide to believe in Nostradamus, it is best to start saying goodbye.

Nostradamus’ predictions for 2021 are morbid, terrifying and exhausting, especially after such an unpredictable year. And it seems that the predictions end with an uncertain death: another prediction that the world will end as we know it.

For a brief history, all of these predictions come from Michel De Nostradamus, a French philosopher who lived in the 1500s. He left some poetic predictions – 6,338 prophecies to be exact – that some modern believers claim to have predicted some modern tragedies, including the reign of Adolf Hitler and the 9/11 attacks in the United States.

Now, his words are being used to illuminate 2021 in astrological predictions. The year-horoscope.org website decoded Nostradamus in its 2021 comparison and can be daunting to read. According to the website, 70 percent of Nostradamus’ predictions came true, and while the 2021 schedule looks a bit far-fetched, we are crossing our fingers – he was wrong this time.

Nostradamus predicted that many terrible things would happen, including a zombie apocalypse and a global famine. But these events do not necessarily indicate 2021 as the start time. Hunger, for example, was taken from this prediction:

“After great problems for mankind, a bigger one is prepared, / The Great Engine renews the times: / Rain, blood, milk, hunger, steel and plague, / It is the fire of heaven seen, a long spark running.”

Of course, the “big problem for humanity” seems to be the coronavirus. That is why some think that hunger and other horrors may come soon. His zombie prediction says the battle between “half-dead” and the living will end the world, but there is no mention of the year.

Some of Nostradamus’ predictions coincided directly with events that have taken place in recent years. One is an asteroid that the philosopher predicted will hit – or pass close to – Earth. Yes, NASA is eyeing some asteroids, 2,078 to be exact according to National Geography. But in 2021, scientists will launch a program called Double Asteroid Redirection Test, or DART, which will test its technological capabilities when it comes to pushing menacing asteroids off course.

In addition, an asteroid called 2014 SD224 passed through Earth on Christmas Day, which means that, technically, this prediction may have already come true, now and dozens of times before.

One event that appears to be specific to 2021 is that the state of California could be destroyed by an earthquake. “The sloping park, great calamity, / For the lands of the west and Lombardy / The fire in the ship, the plague and the captivity; / Mercury in Sagittarius, Saturn weakening,” wrote Nostradamus. And Mercury in Sagittarius is scheduled to take place on November 25, 2021.

Nostradamus predicted much more, including an increased threat from climate change, religious trends, military technology and more. You can read everything here.
