Associated Press ridiculed for reporting GOP ‘tapped’ in Cuomo scandals to distract from Biden’s greatness

The mainstream media often frame stories about scandals by powerful Democrats framing them as Republicans taking advantage of the situation, and the Associated Press continued the tradition over the weekend, claiming that “Republicans have taken over” several allegations of sexual harassment against the New York government Andrew Cuomo.

The story, “Top Dems call on Cuomo to step down amid allegations of harassment,” noted that Cuomo is “fighting for his political survival” after Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, DN.Y., asked him to resign. Still, the article managed to praise President Biden and condemn the Republicans.

REPORTER ACCUSES GOV. CUOMO OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT: ‘IT WAS NOT SEX. IT WAS ABOUT POWER ‘

“The escalating political crisis sparked an impeachment inquiry in a predominantly democratic state and threatens to cloud the early days of President Joe Biden in office. Republicans took advantage of the scandal to try to distract Biden’s success in fighting the coronavirus pandemic. and to challenge your party’s well-established advantage with voters, “wrote the AP in the fourth paragraph of the story.

Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment by at least seven women and many Democrats have called for his resignation, but the AP essentially declared that Republicans are using the scandal to divert Americans from the success of Biden’s coronavirus.

National Review editor Charles CW Cooke scoffed at the writing style last year.

“At this stage, any journalist who frames an error or controversial statement made by a Democratic politician with a ‘conservative attack’ has to be woefully out of touch with reality or consciously trolling,” Cooke wrote.

Journalist Becket Adams noticed the AP’s framing and embarrassed him on Twitter. “Only breathtaking bulls – t,” he wrote.
