Assassin’s Creed Valhalla removes content after game break update causes reaction

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Update 1.2 released this week on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Google Stadia, adding a long-awaited gameplay feature along with a ton of new content, including free DLC that brings players back to the first game. That said, while it has been the biggest game update in recent times, it is also proving to be quite problematic. Since its launch, players, en masse, have reported major bugs and even crashes. As a result, some of the new content added was removed from the game in a hotfix.

On Twitter, the official Assassin’s Creed account revealed that a server-side hotfix was pushed to resolve the crash problems that happen in and around Ravensthorpe. In the pursuit of this, Ubisoft has removed decorations from the settlements and the Ostara Festival missions involving decorations will no longer be completed.

“We are deploying a server-side hotfix to resolve the increase in crashes near Ravensthorpe,” says the post. “The settlement’s decorations will be temporarily removed and the Ostara Festival missions involving decorations will not be completed.”

At the time of publication, it is not entirely clear whether this hotfix fixed all crash problems. It is also unclear when this content will be added back into the game. What is clear is that players are starting to lose patience.
