As of April 5, all residents of Nevad will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine

CARSON CITY (KTNV) – Governor Steve Sisolak spoke to Nevadans today about the progress of vaccination efforts against COVID-1 in the state.

The governor says the state of Nevada is approaching 1 million administered doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

During today’s press conference, Sisolak announced that as of March 22, all Nevadans aged 16 and over with underlying diseases will be able to obtain the vaccine through partner pharmacies and supermarkets.

“This is a critical step in our vaccination effort that will allow more Nevadans to schedule appointments and receive their injection. Continuing our strong effort to vaccinate high-risk Nevadans, including the elderly, individuals with underlying diseases, frontline employees, individuals with disability and homeless Nevadans, we are working to protect the most vulnerable in our state, ”said Governor Sisolak.

Mass vaccination centers will still work for frontline workers and those 65 and older, according to the governor.

And as of April 5, all Nevadans aged 16 and over will be able to get the vaccine on that date, going forward.

“The State will work closely with our local partners to ensure that we are putting as many doses into the arms as possible every day. This schedule should remind Nevadans that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but we must remain vigilant until more residents can be vaccinated, “said the governor.
