As members of the South Carolina House voted for the $ 2,000 stimulus

COLOMBIA, SC (WIS) – Members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were heard on Monday during the vote on increasing the number of COVID-19 stimulus checks.

The stand-alone invoice would increase current checks from $ 600 to $ 2,000.

Of the seven state representatives, two voted to increase stimulus checks to $ 2,000, while five voted against the bill.

Democratic representatives Jim Clyburn and Joe Cunningham were the only congressmen in the state to vote in favor of the bill. Meanwhile, Republicans Jeff Duncan, Ralph Norman, Joe Wilson, Tim Rice and William Timmons voted against the bill.

The bill was finally approved by the Democratic-led House and sent to the Senate led by Republicans for discussion. There was no vote there until Tuesday, when the Senate was closed.
