Here’s the scoop on where to find Xur in Destiny 2, what exotic items he has on sale on January 1 and whether any of them are worth it.
The final week of the seasonal event The Dawning arrived as the community rushed to finish the final leg of the Dawning Spirits mission. With a goal for the entire community of 1,000,000,000 spirits earned during the event, players went off the projected trajectory and risked failing in limited time mode. Fortunately, Bungie made a change to triple the amount players could win and now the community is back on track with just a few days to go.
In addition to The Dawning, the Deep Stone Crypt invasion continues to receive new challenges for players to overcome with each reboot. This attack has also proven to be incredibly popular with players and has seen a large number of players trying to do it since it arrived. In fact, a group called The Tracker Network managed to compile the data to determine the most popular weapons used in the attack with the exotic Lament sword leading all equipment, followed by the Heritage shotgun, Falling Guillotine sword, Xenopage and Ikelos SMG leading the list.

Even with a new year now here, Xur maintained his resolve to continue visiting Destiny 2 every weekend to bring exotic items for purchase. Follow this guide to find his location, news about his search for exotic encryption, as well as a review of what he is currently selling for the weekend of January 1, 2021.
Where is Xur?
During this weekend, players must go to the Watcher’s Tomb in Nessus to find the merchant in the huge tree at the back of the zone.
From the Headmaster, go to Nessus and click on the Watcher’s Tomb. Run towards the bottom of the area where a huge tree was found. Jump until players find the huge branch where the trader is.
Class Armor and Exotic Cypher
While Xur’s role is essentially the same as before the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic trader also has weekly quests that players can purchase to unlock an exotic cipher. They are not only needed to purchase a second predestined engram, but also to purchase exotic legacy equipment from the new kiosk. Players can win a new figure by completing strokes and winning crucible or gambito matches. Earn bonus points for playing with clanmates or completing more challenging activities.

Astrocyte Verso – Warlock Helmet
The Astrocyte Verse helmet is a solid movement with an exotic focus, similar to the Hunter Boots St0MP-EE5 or Titan Rampant Lion Boots.
Its exotic advantage is called Move to Survive and allows Blink Warlocks to use the jump movement more often and at a greater distance. In addition, weapons are ready faster outside of Blink and the radar remains active. Obviously, this will not be a high-end exotic piece for warlocks, as there are much better combat-oriented armor. Still, for players who like to use blink and need a little help with activities aimed at platforms in Destiny 2, it is worth taking a look at this one. The rollover of statistics is very interesting in these too, considering that it provides a huge increase in mobility, something Warlocks are not normally known for. However, this has an extremely low resilience and recovery cost.

The Bombardiers – Hunter Leg Armor
This week’s newest exotic item is the Bombers, originally added to the game during the Season of Dawn. These exotic boots come with the privilege called a farewell gift, which leaves behind an explosive with a short fuse after dodging.
Ultimately, Bombardiers are not mandatory. However, while there are much better exotic class items for Hunters, they remain a fun option to play with. Collectors will undoubtedly want to pick you up, but for everyone else, your mileage may vary with what you earn from them.

One-Eyed Mask – Titan Helmet
At one point, the One-Eye Mask made Titan players a feared fighter in the game’s PvP modes. It was an exotic product thanks to the buffs it provided to the user, although in 2019 the item was finally nerfed, leaving Hunters and Sorcerers quite happy. Although it is still a very strong PvP-oriented exotic item, it is certainly not the item before. Still, it’s worth picking up for players who don’t have or want a better result.
The reason this item is a great Crucible item is due to its Vengeance privilege. Any enemy that damages the user is highlighted and if the player can kill the marked player, he receives excessive protection.

Exotic Weapon
Merciless is a heavy weapon that does high damage, especially against a single target. It’s a solid choice regardless of the mode, although Nightfalls and strikes make it a powerful choice. Although it was already a right choice for fans, players who want a little more return on their investments can actually opt for weapons like Jotunn, which is not a powerful weapon and has a bit of tracking as well.
Conserve Momentum continuously charges the weapon faster when players receive non-lethal blows, with the cycle restarting as soon as final death is achieved. Combine that with your other privilege, Impetus, players gain more damage for a short time after quickly reloading after a death.
