Armie Hammer will ‘move away’ from the Jennifer Lopez film amid the DMs scandal

Armie Hammer will move away from his next film, “Shotgun Wedding,” confirmed Page Six, amid a scandal involving alleged leaked messages from the star about his sex life.

A source familiar with the project told us that Hammer is “moving away” from the action comedy film that is due to go into production this year.

A production spokesman confirmed to Page Six: “Given the imminent start date of ‘Shotgun Wedding’, Armie asked to move away from the film and we support him in his decision.”

Hammer representatives did not comment.

Jennifer Lopez is the headline of the film directed by “Pitch Perfect” director Jason Moore.

Ryan Reynolds was previously created to play the role of Hammer and is the executive producer of the film, which follows a sulky couple whose destination wedding is held hostage. The film is being distributed in the United States by Lionsgate and, last month, sold internationally to Amazon Prime.

The leaked messages allegedly from Hammer describe fantasies of rape and cannibalism, and the star has yet to publicly comment on the DMs – which were leaked by an anonymous social media account under the name of House of Effie. The report stated that a message from Hammer to a woman said that he was “100 percent a cannibal”, while another horrible message allegedly spoke about “cutting off toes”.

Sources said some members of Hammer’s camp have tried to garner support for the star in the city. But even hardened Hollywood insiders seem shaken by the alleged messages. Either way, the situation certainly looks strange to Lopez, who is still flying high after his Hollywood success, “Hustlers”, and the Super Bowl halftime show last year.

Hammer’s upcoming projects also include the thriller “The Billion Dollar Spy”, as well as a planned sequel to his 2017 hit, “Call Me By Your Name”.

The “Social Network” actor previously said in interviews that he is a “dominant lover” who liked to “grab women by the neck and by the hair”. But he said the marriage to his now estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, changed his sexual appetite. “There comes a point where you say, ‘I respect you too much to do these things that I kind of want to do,'” he said.

He later told E! News of Playboy’s candid interview, “Don’t drink during an interview”.
