Armie Hammer leaves Broadway play ‘The Minutes’ after allegations of sexual assault

After months of scandal culminating in allegations of sexual assault, Armie Hammer has moved away from yet another role.

The 34-year-old actor will no longer appear in the Broadway play “The Minutes”, according to Variety.

Written by Tracy Letts, “The Minutes” originally planned to debut in March 2020, but when the coronavirus pandemic closed the New York theater circuit, the project was put on hold. The premiere is scheduled for the 2021-2022 season.

The story examines the dark side of a city council meeting when a newcomer gets involved.

“The Minutes” was one of the star’s final roles he booked before his scandal broke in January. He has since abandoned projects left and right. He is still set to star in two films he has already finished shooting: “Death on the Nile” and “Next Goal Wins”.

A few weeks ago, a woman accused Hammer of rape and physical abuse. Hammer, who is now the prime suspect in a Los Angeles Police Department investigation, has denied the charges.

“From the first day, Mr. Hammer claims that all of his interactions with [the woman] – and all his other sexual partners in this regard – were completely consensual, discussed and agreed in advance and mutually participatory. [The woman]The search for attention and the reckless legal offer will only make it more difficult for the real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve, “the statement said.
