Armed protests planned in all 50 state capitals, says FBI bulletin

An internal FBI note obtained by ABC News shows warnings of “a major revolt”.

As of this week and at least the inauguration day, armed protests are being planned in all 50 state capitals and the US Capitol, according to an internal FBI bulletin obtained by ABC News.

“The FBI received information about an identified armed group that planned to travel to Washington, DC on January 16,” the bulletin said. “They warned that if Congress tries to remove POTUS through the 25th Amendment, a huge revolt will occur.”

Federal law enforcement officials have advised law enforcement agencies to increase their security posture in state homes across the country after the US Capitol riot, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

After the violent pro-Trump violation of the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers in the House of Representatives moved on Monday in an effort to get Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, who would declare Trump unable to fulfill his presidential duties and install Pence as interim president until Biden is inaugurated on January 20.

The effort was finally blocked by West Virginia Republican MP Alex Mooney, and House Democrats then presented an impeachment article against Trump for “inciting insurrection.”

The measure, which has more than 200 Democratic co-sponsors, says that Trump “has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security, democracy and the constitution if he is allowed to remain in office and acted in a manner totally incompatible with self-governance and the state of right. “

According to the FBI, about 29 individuals and / or social media accounts of individuals who illegally entered the Capitol were identified on Sunday.

The FBI has received nearly 45,000 digital media tips that are now being analyzed.

At least five people died during the siege of the Capitol, including Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick. The FBI bulletin said Sicknick “died of injuries sustained during the violation of the United States Capitol.”
