Arizona woman assaulted children with coronavirus because they did not wear masks: police

An Arizona mother allegedly assaulted her children and stepchildren because they were not wearing masks after testing positive for the new coronavirus, officials said.

Sarah Michelle Boone, 32, was charged with disorderly conduct, resistance to arrest and three counts of child abuse and assault, according to the indictment documents obtained on Thursday by The Associated Press.

Prosecutor documents show that the police responded to Boone’s home last weekend, where they said she kicked a boy while he was on the floor, hit another child’s face and grabbed the third child by the neck – all allegedly because the children they were not wearing masks despite having tested positive for the virus.

NORTH CAROLINA MAN ARRESTED BY THE DEATH OF 16 YEARS, LOADED BY HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Boone left before the police arrived, but the police found her walking down the street, according to the documents. The police say she ignored his command to stop and fought them when they tried to arrest her. The police ended up hitting her with a stun gun before she was finally handcuffed.

In the documents, officials said they found Boone in three previous domestic violence incidents. They also indicated that Boone is an alcoholic and was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the children.

Boone was taken to Maricopa County Prison. She was released on Tuesday on $ 5,000 bail, said Calbert Gillett, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
