Arizona reports 6,106 new COVID-19 cases; 15 virus-related deaths

PHOENIX (KVOA) – 6,106 Arizonans tested positive for coronavirus, according to Friday’s panel.

Another 15 people lost their lives to the virus, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services. This is the seventh time in nine days that the number is in the triple digits.

So far, the state has seen 493,041 known cases and 8,424 total deaths.

WHAT TO KNOW:

Deaths are not recorded until the health department receives a death certificate naming COVID-19 as the cause of death.

The data includes people who have recovered.

According to the state data panel, 3,128,346 people were tested for the virus. Of those who were processed, 11.9% tested positive. This does not include serology or antibody tests.
