Arizona is the least safe state during a pandemic, shows the WalletHub study

Arizona is the least safe state during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a study that analyzes data from several official sources.

States were ranked in order of safety based on rates of vaccinations, positive tests, hospitalizations, deaths and transmissions.

Our state obtained an overall security rating of 51 – the bottom position of all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

We also won 51st place for the highest positive test rate and highest hospitalization rate. We had the second highest mortality rate, just above Alabama, and the third highest transmission rate, just above Washington and Hawaii.

The safest states based on the data are considered Alaska, Vermont, Colorado and Montana.

The study used data from the US Census Bureau, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The COVID Tracking Project and rt.live, according to WalletHub.
