“I’m not running for the United States Senate. It’s a no. I am 100% focused on being governor of the state of Arizona, ”he said in an interview with The New York Times published on Saturday. “I accepted the role of president of [Republican Governors Association]. So, I have a full-time job and, in addition, I have a full-time job. And that is my focus. ”
Kelly’s seat, which he won in a special election in November and is contested again in 2022 for a full term, is one of the top priorities for Republicans in the middle. “For Republicans across the country, we need to think about the mode of addition and multiplication instead of subtraction and division,” Ducey told the Times. “And in the two races that I had as governor, that attitude I had.
“It is a broad coalition,” he added. “It must be a big tent.”
