Ariel Pink left the label after attending the Trump rally

Indie musician Ariel Pink was removed from his label after confirming his participation in the Trump rally that led to the violent attack on the United States Capitol.

“Due to recent events, Mexican Summer and his team decided to end our working relationship with Ariel Rosenberg, also known as Ariel Pink, going forward,” tweeted the New York-based record company Friday.

(As of Friday afternoon, Pink’s page on the Mexican Summer website was still active.)

The announcement came just a day after Pink’s explanation on Twitter that he attended the rally in Washington, DC, to “peacefully show my support for the president.”

“I attended the rally on the lawn of the white house and went back to the hotel and took a nap. case closed ”, he tweeted Thursday in response to a Twitter user who called Pink and fellow independent musician John Maus for attending Wednesday’s event.

Although Pink confirmed that he attended the rally in DC protesting the results of the presidential election, he denied being part of the crowd that invaded the Capitol while Congress was conducting the formal process of certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over President Trump.

Pink, born Ariel Marcus Rosenberg in Los Angeles, made public his support for Trump and encouraged people to vote for him ahead of this week’s violent events.

“I’m not a magician,” Pink tweeted in December, responding to a Twitter user who questioned his support for the president. “I simply think that trump card is the only thing that prevents total collapse. the psychopathic liars of the media in pursuit of the Biden / Harris presidency are more frightening to me. “
