Apps for iOS and iPadOS worth checking out – February 2021

On our YouTube channel, we have a series of videos in progress that aim to highlight new, interesting and useful apps for the iPhone and iPad that we think are worth downloading and checking out.

There are so many apps on the App Store that it can be difficult to find new, high-quality apps to download, plus it’s easy to ignore amazing apps that are a little older. Our February picks include apps to personalize your Apple Watch and ‌iPhone‌, find and manage Apple Music, follow TV shows, take notes and more.

  • Soor ($ 4.99) – Soor is a music player that integrates with pApple Music‌ and aims to make it easier to find new songs. There are a number of themes, along with full ‌Apple Music‌ controls for searching content, enjoying music, sharing content and adding music to playlists. It comes with a set of widgets that can be added to the home screen or the Today center, and has an attractive running interface.
  • TV Forecast (Free) – TV Prediction allows you to follow the TV shows you’re watching, providing an easy way to mark the episode you’re on. There are notifications when a new episode is about to air and you can share the progress with friends and family. There is information about actors on TV shows and you can get recommendations for new shows to watch. TV forecasting is free for five shows, but costs $ 0.99 a month for more.
  • Moloko (Free) – Moloko is a theme app that makes it easy to customize the iOS home screen by changing the icons. It offers a variety of themes that have custom icons for integrated and third-party applications and are simple to install so you don’t have to use the Shortcuts app and replace icons manually. Note that you will need to install a profile to use the quick icon exchange.
  • Aviary ($ 3.99) – Available on all Apple devices, Aviary is a third-party Twitter client that can be used in place of standard Twitter applications. It has a simple and clean interface that can be customized the way you like it, in addition to supporting modern features such as searches, hashflags, trends and more.
  • Ramp up (Free) – Craft is a document creation and management tool that you can use to take notes and organize your ideas. It supports Markdown, backlinks, code snippets, images and videos, and anything you create can be shared via a web link. Craft is free, but there is a “Pro” subscription option for $ 4.99 per month. The Pro version supports larger file options, offers more storage and has a version history feature.
  • BuddyWatch (Free) – BuddyWatch is an application that makes it easy to create new faces for your Apple Watch. You can share watch faces, see faces designed by others, and get suggestions for watch faces based on your preferences.
  • Kitty Letter (Free) – Designed by Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal, who also created the popular game Exploding Kittens, Kitty Letter is a word game where you create words from a pile of letters to form an army of exploding cats to attack your neighbor and defend your home.
