The latest MacBook Pro with Apple’s M1 chipset has had some discounts since its debut at the end of last year and remains on sale on Amazon now. But the online retailer is adding an already solid selling price with additional discounts. The 256GB MacBook Pro M1 dropped to $ 1,150 thanks to an automatically applied $ 50 coupon, and the 512GB version dropped to $ 1,350 thanks to a similar $ 49 coupon.

Apple impressed us with the MacBook Air M1, which showed the impressive capabilities of the new chipset. The MacBook Pro M1 goes even further and earned a score of 84 from us. The M1 chip performed as well as we expected and provided even more power to the Pro thanks to the notebook’s more efficient cooling system (unlike Air, it has a fan to help with things). The Pro M1 was incredibly fast and controlled the games very well thanks to the improved GPUs. We were also impressed with the Pro’s battery life, which lasted over 16 hours in our benchmark tests and had a lot of energy left over after a full day of work.

But the Pro has some limitations that advanced users should consider. First of all, it only supports up to 16 GB of RAM, which is a drag for those of us who like to specify our machines with as much RAM as possible. Although the new GPU cores are solid, they are the only ones you can use because the new Pro does not support external GPUs and is limited to an external monitor as well. You’ll also want to make sure that the software you use on a daily basis has been optimized for the M1 chipset – although many popular programs already are, the option is not yet universal. But if you need an update and all of your necessary software is ready for M1, it’s important to consider Amazon’s deal on the latest MacBook Pro.
